Introduction to Meisner Technique
Online Acting Workshop
This class is an interactive lecture and demonstration of the concepts of the Meisner Technique, one of the longest-standing pillars of modern acting. Actors engage in Meisner exercises like Repetition and Independent Activity. This class is for ALL LEVELS from beginners to experienced actors. It will be taught by Sightlines Actors' Space founder Alecx Lorica.
About the Instructor:
Alecx Lorica is an acting coach and actor. She is a Designated Meisner Teacher (DMT) and received her Meisner teacher training under Scott Trost, Executive Director of the Meisner Institute, L.A., USA. She also has degrees in BFA Theater Arts and AB Communication from Ateneo de Manila University. Over the course of June 2021 to today, she has taught over 200 students from all over the globe.

Q: What is the Meisner Technique?
A: The Meisner technique is an acting approach developed by Sanford Meisner and is one of the longest standing pillars of modern acting. Meisner taught acting for 60 years and his students achieved remarkable success, winning multiple awards, including 37 Oscar nominations.
Q: What is the approached to learning the Meisner Technique?
A: The approach is centered on helping actors behave more truthfully and instinctively when acting. It is also focused on getting actors "out of their heads" and overcoming overthinking through developing the skill to work off their scene partner.
Q: Will the class be in Bahasa Indonesia or English?
A: The class will be in English only
Q: Do I need to prepare anything or wear a specific attire?
A: You do not need to prepare anything and you can wear any comfortable clothings. The only thing you need to do is rename your account to the name you registered so we can allow you to enter the room.
Q: Will I be doing any sort activities or exercises during the class?
A: Yes, this is an interactive lecture and demonstration
Q: Do I need to turn on my camera?
A: We will only ask you to turn on your camera when:
Q: Is late entry allowed?
A: If you are late, you may enter at most 30 minutes after class started. Afterwards, the room will be locked to ensure the class runs smoothly. Please make sure you have a stable internet when attending.

A: Of course! Once you are on the loket.com page:
1) You click either on the Tiket tab or the Beli Tiket button
2) On the ticket, click on the Masukkan Nominal link, this should open up a pop up window
3) On the new window, enter the value you want to pay (minimum 15,000) and click on the Konfirmasi button
4) Afterwards you can change the number of quantity you want to purchase with value you have entered
5) Once you are satisified, you click on the Beli Tiket button and proceed with the checkout
Q: When do I receive the link to the class?
A: After you purchase the ticket, you should receive an email with the ticket and the link to the class. If you have any issue please email to [email protected]
Q: If I already paid for the class but cannot attend, will there be a refund?
A: Unfortunately, there is no refund. All sales are final. However, you may give your ticket to another person to replace you. Please email to [email protected] for any questions.
Q: Will the class be recorded?
A: Yes, the class will be recorded. All participants will receive a private Youtube link to watch the video anytime.
