The Meisner Acting Intensive: 2 Weeks Acting Workshop
The Meisner Acting Intensive is a two week series of specialized Meisner workshops by The Jakarta Players in partnership with Sightlines Actors' Space. This workshops series is designed to introduce and demonstrate the methodologies & applications of the Meisner Technique. This approach to actor training is one of the longest-standing pillars of modern acting and is taught around the world in many major schools and universities.
Starting on Monday, 26 February 2024

The Jakarta Players Community Event: Afternoon of Drama
In this special Jakarta Players’ community event, our current acting workshop students will be opening their doors to let you watch the fruits of their 16-week intensive Meisner Core Program, a collaboration between Jakarta Players Community Theatre and Sightlines Actors' Space from the Philippines, led by Meisner certified instructor Alecx Lorica.

In this contemporary retelling of the classic Greek tale of Orpheus & Eurydice, witness the inevitable unfold from the eyes of its heart-torn heroine, whose fate is sealed not by the gods nor by her husband, but by the irresistible pull of love in all of its tragic ways. Featuring beautiful, lyrical language by Sarah Ruhl and a clever modern context, the play invites audience members to re-imagine the journey into the Underworld from a female perspective and wander along with Eurydice in wonder of the many twists & turns life & love can often take.

which there will be discussion. You can also vote for your favorites in the People’s Choice and
Reader’s Choice Awards (where the Players will perform the winning piece at their next
opportunity) and all winners will receive prizes!
